Are Certain Dog Breeds more Prone to Developing Arthritis?

Although any dog can develop osteoarthritis or arthritis, particularly if they’ve had a trauma or injury to the joint, there are some breeds that seem more susceptible.

These breeds are: Miniature Poodles; Boston Terriers; Chihuahuas, Pugs; Yorkshire Terriers; Welsh Corgis; Dachshunds; Staffordshire Bull Terriers; Labrador and Golden Retrievers; American and English Bulldogs; German Shepherds; Mastiffs; Boxers; Great Danes; and St Bernards.

Athletic and working dogs may also be more at risk.
