Poor sight or vision is an unfortunate daily reality for many dogs. It can lead to injuries on the nose, snout and head, a lack of confidence and uncertainty when moving around and a decreased quality of life.

Rarely dogs are born blind, without eyes (anophthalmia) or develop poor sight at a young age and are often able to adapt to their life in darkness but more commonly blindness is caused later in life.
