Muffin's Halo for Blind Dog is excellent for helping your blind dog navigate their surroundings, what makes this halo better than cheaper versions is the stiff neck board behind their neck holds the halo consistently in place. For example, the halo will not fall forward when your dog lowers their head to sniff the ground. It comprises of a harness which wraps around your dog's chest, the 'wings' attach to the harness at the neck and the Halo attaches to the wings. The Halo is positioned just above your dog's eye level to act as a buffer to protect their mouth, nose and shoulders from hitting surfaces and it also acts as a signal to your dog to allow them to walk with confidence.

  • Excellent blind or visually impaired aid for dogs
  • Make your dog feel confident to walk around without hurting themselves
  • Lightweight, comfortable polyester and cotton halo
  • Does not interrupt normal activities - eating, resting, toileting, sniffing
  • Dogs might be post-operative, elderly dogs or have cataracts

Review: "We are very pleased with the Muffins Halo, it is wonderful we put it on our blind dog Toby and he accepted right away and is so happy wearing it it has made his life so much better he no longer crashes into things and has not objected at all about wearing it. I would recommend it to any owners of blind dogs and have already told people at my own vets not to hesitate in getting one, it is really wonderful." [Jennifer, UK]  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

BLACK M Halo

Very happy with this halo for my blind Pug. Nice simple design, seems comfortable to wear and the halo is held in place at the optimum position. There's a D ring to attach a lead or a harness can be worn over the top. Only downside, it's very expensive for what it is although it really is better designed than the first, cheaper harness I bought

Best halo on market

it maybe a lot more expensive than other halos but this one does the job not like the cheaper ones that are a waste of time and money

Well made but expensive

Great service from the team. Halo arrived very quickly and isxwell made. Its too early to tell if it will make a difference however our dog has taken to it well.

The pricing for the larger dogs seems disproportionate to the smaller dogs £100 difference but that is the same with all companies and is very hard to find one in stock.

I would definitely recommend this company and product.

Good product, glad some companies think of the not so able pets.

  • hello my pug is 50 cm wouid i need to order meduim or large please and do you have different colours. Thanks

    A Medium would be best.

We would recommend not up sizing up, as the chest piece needs to be secure around the body.

We can get you any colour, but delivery will be 2 weeks. The colours are: red, blue, black, white, grey lavender.

Please email in and we can organise for you: woof@zoomadog.co.uk

  • Hello - my wirehaired foxterrier is 58cm round his chest. Can you tell me please if they come up larger or smaller size?

Thank you for your message. The Muffins Halo do run small, so please don't worry about the rather small sizing. The halo needs to fit nice and snugly in order to work well.  58cm (22.8") is within that large category and I think it would be a great fit for your wirehaired foxterrier. Many thanks

  • Hi, are these safe to leave them on the dog while they are alone in the house? Once they have got used to wearing it of course. Thank you Beci

For safety reasons, don't leave Muffin’s Halo on your dog while he or she is home alone. Muffin’s Halo should also be removed if you're putting your dog in a crate. This is also for safety purposes.

How to Measure Muffin's Halo for Blind Dogs

Muffin's Halo Sizes

Muffin's Halo Sizes

Please measure your Blind Dog's Girth = fattest area on the body (this could be the chest or the belly). It is different for each dog.

Please order the size your blind dog's girth measurement falls under on our size chart.

Muffin's Halo for Blind Dogs

Customer Question:

Can dogs sniff the ground when wearing Muffin's Halo? Our dog has been slowly losing her sight because of an eye condition. She has adapted, with very little sight, to her surroundings and sniffs all the time to work out where she is. Today she has had to have her eyes removed.

Zoomadog Answer:

Thanks for getting in touch. Yes in short your dog will be able to sniff the ground with the Halo on. The Halo is better than other blind head gear because the board that sits above the dogs' shoulders does not fall forward when the dog puts their head down (perhaps to sniff).

You might find this video useful:

If you look 3/4 of the way through the video you will see a dog outside sniffing the grass.

Muffin’s Halo Black Braille ® is a 3 piece must-have device that helps blind dogs transition. Becoming familiar with existing or new surroundings quickly. It starts as a harness wrapped snug around a dog’s neck and torso. The wing attaches to the neck of the harness. The halo attaches to the wing and when placed on the neck of the harness, the halo is just above the eye level.

Now the halo acts as a buffer to safeguard a blind dog’s head, nose, face and shoulders from bumping into hard surfaces. As the halo taps hard surfaces, it sends a signal to the dog alerting them to go in a different direction. They catch on very fast and it is truly amazing to watch their confidence level rise. Wearing the harness also makes them feel cuddled and less anxious.
