Our Orthodog Hip Brace is excellent for dogs suffering from hip dysplasia, arthritis, hip pain and weakness. Pull the hip brace up like a pair of trousers, pull the hip brace straps firmly over your dog's back and secure it with the Velcro. This brace will stabilise your dog’s hips and lower back area, reducing pain caused along the back and hips allowing your dog to walk more comfortably and for longer. Suitable for whatever your dog normally likes to do, including swimming. The brace is also great for puppies and young dogs who suffer from lower back pain and early hip dysplasia symptoms.

Degenerative Myelopathy - Please be aware this hip brace will not help dogs who have DM. In some cases it can make it worse as they will struggle to move forward. Please look at the Biko Brace or a dog wheelchair.

  • Excellent for hip dysplasia, arthritis and lower back pain
  • Offers excellent strong hip support for longer walks
  • This support reduces pain and inflammation
  • Designed to be used during the day for long periods of time
  • Comfortable to wear

Review: "I bought this brace after my collie had a bad dislocation in the right leg. It worked really well and helped prevent the hip coming out again. He even swam in it!" [Sarah, UK]  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Customer Questions:

The brace has arrived! The spinal strap seems a bit lop-sided?

Zoomadog Answer:

Yes the spinal strap should go along you dog's ridge. Play around and adjust the front straps, perhaps start with the back one and then correct the front.

Customer Question Two:

The Orthodog diagram says measure height from paw to lower back, and this looks like a straight line on the diagram so if I place a ruler on his lower back and point it against the wall, is that the right height then if I measure straight down the wall from the ruler?

Zoomadog Answer:

Yes you are completely right! Use the wall - place a ruler on his lower back and point it against the wall,. then measure straight down the wall from the ruler. That would be perfect.

Hip brace

Unfortunately I have to return this as it was to big. I don't think it would have worked for him anyway, he just stood there did not like it

Poor

I put it on my dog who is suffering from acute arthritis and it made him fall over even more not good

Barclay's brace

Time will tell if it does him any good or not, it would appear to be fitting him well enough, the only complaint I have is it would seem to be very much overpriced for what it is, I don't mind paying for the brace especially if it works but I feel it could be a good bit cheaper than the £198 cost including delivery, hence only the 3 stars.
Thanks
Robert

Not suitable for my GSD

My 8 year old German Shepherd Dog has degenerative bone disease and his back leg has finally given way. I thought the brace would help but unfortunately it did not.

Huge Difference

First day out with the brace and first time in 6 months that Sparky has walked without having to sit down frequently or being bent. Absolute godsend and well worth the outlay
