"Our 14 year old Labrador who has arthritis in his spine and is losing the use of his back legs, took to it very quickly.

We have been walking him using a harness for the last year so he is very strong in his front end which I think has helped.

Received the wheelchair within a couple of days from order, after a phone call, to check the size and to answer a query about the tyre suitability for walking through woods etc.

We are building up to a 10 minute walk slowly, but signs are good that it will help him walk a bit further, and help our backs too! Very pleased with the product and the excellent service received from Zoomadog."

Information on wheels
When you order a set of wheels they will come in a kit with an instruction booklet on how to put them together. The harness attaches to the frame, put the harness on your Labrador and they will be ready to pull the wheels.

The kit includes:
The frame, wheels x 2 (foam 8"), harness, leg rings, stirrups and belly belt

What extras do people buy with their Labrador wheels?
Front Warrior Harness - This is very popular as an extra. The harness helps displace the wheel's weight making pulling the wheelchair more comfortable than the thinner harness which comes with the wheels. The harness is made of durable neoprene. Pull the harness over your dog's head. There is a D-Ring on the back of the harness so you can attach a lead-in or out of the wheelchair.

Belly Support - this sits under your dog and evenly distributes their weight and removes pressure points. This makes the wheels more comfortable

Will my dog need boots if they drag their paws?
In the kit you will get stirrups, if you want to protect their nails or paws you can use the stirrups to hold their paws up off the ground. If you want to let your dog use their back feet to move along, we recommend putting boots on them. We sell WagWear Mojave Boots which are a good choice.

What happens to the fitness of your Labrador?
In the first few days, keep a good eye on your Labrador. This is probably the most amount of exercise they've done in a while! Take it easy and give them a break from the wheels when you see them getting tired. Overall you will find your Labrador gets a lot more exercise and will be fitter than below.

Can I leave the wheels on all day?
Yes you can leave the wheels on all day. Most people find their dog really enjoys running around. Your Labrador can wear the wheels inside, outside and all-day.

Can I return the wheels if they don't fit my dog or if my dog doesn't like them?
Yes absolutely, we have a 14 day returns policy. We also have a wheelchair expert who looks over each order before they are sent out to ensure your dog has the perfect wheel size for them.

What is the delivery time?
If you order before 3pm on a working day, we will ship Next Day Delivery with DHL. You must send us your measurements by 3pm. We can ship internationally (anywhere).

Looks great, but yet to try it

Was a bit confused about set up, but looked at instructional video and it made it all clear. A bit heavier than I was expecting, but would rather have it robust, than flimsy. As I’ve said I’ve not tried it yet, so fingers crossed she gets on okay with it.

Superb bit of kit!

I have a 9 year old German shepherd named Loki who has arthritis and a degenerative condition and he cannot support his weight on his back legs. For months I have been using a 'help em up' harness to support his back end to take him on walks, which was really good and he would still get a good trot on but my back was suffering from supporting a 45kg dog for such a long time. The wheel chair (we don't call it that, it's his war chariot!) is a game changer. He was used to it in just a few walks and flies about chasing sticks and going off road and pays it no attention, paired with the Maximus paws up skates it's a real help for him and he actually uses his back legs again to push himself forward. Service was excellent and items were shipped extremely quickly. Would highly recommend!
