Rex Specs lenses are excellent if your dog is light sensitive or exercises in bright conditions or environments. For example, they might find the beach or sea very bright.   • My dog is 17 and very very sensitive to light. She can still see, but her pupils are staying wide open when in any form of natural light and she is flinching a lot. She can’t go out apart from toilet breaks anymore. She’s been seen by an eye specialist and they recommend we try Rex. What is the strongest of the Rex lenses that will block out the most light?

    Sorry you’re dealing with this it is great the eye specialist has recommended goggles, that’s a sensible next step.

    The darkest / strongest Rex Specs V2 lens for blocking visible light is the Smoke lense which only lets about 20% of visible light through. 

    All Rex Specs lenses (including Smoke) give UV400 protection (≈99% UVA/UVB blocked). 

    We offer a 14 day return window so you can try them and return in like-new condition if they don’t help.

    - Try them indoors first. Put the Smoke lenses on in a bright living room or garden (supervised) to see whether your dog’s squinting/flinching reduces. That lets you evaluate without spending too long outside.

    - Introduce slowly and pair with positive rewards. Older dogs can be head-shy — use short sessions, treats, and keep the straps comfortably adjusted.

If you love your dog, get Rex Specs

Our Dog is 12.5 years old and she has been using respect since the age of six after she scratched her eyes and they made ulcers that won’t heal !

Our dogs eyes are beautiful! She always get compliments about how clear they are for an old girl and it’s due to the specs.

We would’ve probably gone to the vets countless times if we didn’t have the specs that protects her eyes highly recommend Rex specs do not go for a cheaper brand they do not work!

Good.

Our dog gets eye ulcers running through summer grass, these are brilliant for protecting the eyes. Easy to fit and after a bit of training (don’t try them on with the lens in near concrete - they scratch. My error ).

Highly recommend them. Marked down a bit because of the price.
