*NEW* Hock Dog Splint by Zoomadog - Ideal for Weak Hock Joints & Hock Injuries (firm)

Will ship 1st February

The Zoomadog Hock Dog Splint is excellent at helping weak hock joints, hock weakness, hock joint instability, Achilles Tendon weakness and similar. This dog hock splint stabilises the lower rear limb while keeping the paw free, allowing essential paw movement where needed while supporting and stabilising the hock joint itself. The Zoomadog Hock Splint fits securely over your dog’s rear leg to fully immobilise the hock joint and surrounding area, providing reliable, rigid support during healing. If your dog does not require this level of support, the Balto Hock Brace may be a more suitable option as it includes removable splints.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • HI. We need to stop our dog bending his hock joint, he has an injury and we need help him recover. Will this brace help?

Sorry to hear this, and yes this hock splint will help. Secure both the top and bottom cuff to your dog's leg, and the spine will ensure their hock joint will not bend and your dog can start to recover

  • My dog has snapped his Achilles Tendon. Would this brace help?

Ouch an Achilles Tendon sounds painful, and I'm sorry to hear. Along with other recovery recommendations e.g. such as crate rest, yes this brace can help secure the hock joint so your dog has a stable hock and tarsal ligaments. Please make sure to have a holistic recovery plan that a hock brace is part of, so your dog makes a full recovery e.g. short walks / no jumping up etc

  • Can my dog wear this hock brace all day?

Yes your dog can wear this splint all day, but if it gets wet then you must dry it before putting it back on. Be careful they don't chew the straps, and keep an eye on them for rubbing or any naughty behaviour which means they might chew the splint while you're not looking.

Hock Dog Splint Features:

  • Lightweight
  • Easy Velcro straps
  • Strong hock joint support
  • Straightforward to put on

What Injuries can the Hock Dog Splint Help:

A dog hock splint (that pointy joint on your dog's back leg) is mainly used to support and stabilise your dog's hock joint. Hock splints can help with the following medical conditions and injuries:

  • Hock sprains and strains
  • Overstretching or minor ligament injuries in the hock joint
  • Tendon or ligament injuries especially Achilles (calcaneal) tendon strains or partial tears
  • Arthritis or joint inflammation - helping reduce pain and instability in older dogs or after flare-ups
  • Post-surgery support after hock, Achilles tendon, or lower-leg surgeries usually under vet guidance
  • Mild hock instability or weakness
  • Hyperextension injuries - when the hock bends too far downward (common in athletic or working dogs)
  • Soft tissue injuries - providing rest and compression while tissues heal

How to Measure Your Dog:

You need to measure two points: above the hock joint and below the hock joint.

Sizing is as below:
Small: 9.5 - 11.9cm
Medium: 12 - 17.4cm
Large: 17.5+ cm
