What Injuries can the Hock Dog Splint Help:
A dog hock splint (that pointy joint on your dog's back leg) is mainly used to support and stabilise your dog's hock joint. Hock splints can help with the following medical conditions and injuries:
- Hock sprains and strains
- Overstretching or minor ligament injuries in the hock joint
- Tendon or ligament injuries especially Achilles (calcaneal) tendon strains or partial tears
- Arthritis or joint inflammation - helping reduce pain and instability in older dogs or after flare-ups
- Post-surgery support after hock, Achilles tendon, or lower-leg surgeries usually under vet guidance
- Mild hock instability or weakness
- Hyperextension injuries - when the hock bends too far downward (common in athletic or working dogs)
- Soft tissue injuries - providing rest and compression while tissues heal
