Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Hi I have a border collie who is 14 in February next year. He has had Ivdd since he was 7. Recently I have noticed him weak on his hind legs. Would the WiggleLess Dog harness be suitable for him and if so what size? Also if it puts firm support on his spine would that not be bad for a dog with ivdd?

Could you send in a video of your lovely Border Collie so we can see how she is walking? If her hind legs are becoming weak, and perhaps dragging, a back brace won't correct so it would be best if we could take a look at a little video and we can suggest from there. • Hi I bought Bertie the lil back bracer a couple of years ago you have got his photo. He has had X-rays and scans and he has got a lot of calcification in his spine. I bought a medium lil back bracer I’m looking to buy the wiglglelLess do you think the 9 to 11 inch would be ok

Hello,  the medium Lil Back Bracer is for a spinal measurement of 13-15.5". So that one is a little larger than the WiggleLess 11", which starts from 9" up to 11". I would advise to re measure you dog to see what size would be best. Thank you

  • Hi, my dog has IVDD and has had two successful surgeries 5 years ago. He is showing signs of a flare up in the lumbar region. He is about 13 inches from bottom of neck to tail. He’s a mixed breed. Which back brace should I get?

Hi, we have two back braces. The WiggleLess Back Brace offers firm support along your dog's spine, giving them full security and reducing pain caused by pinching back nerves. The L'il Back Bracer is lighter in support, designed to stabilise your dog's back from above and below, with comfortable ergonomic construction to alleviate pressure on the spin. Both braces are designed to help with IVDD and other back issues.

How to Measure WiggleLess Back Brace - Dog Back Brace

WiggleLess Back Bracer Sizes

WiggleLess Back Bracer Sizes

Measure from the base of your dog's neck to the front of the thigh.

9" Brace - fits between 7" to 10"
11" Brace - fits OVER 10" up to 12"
13" Brace - fits OVER 12" up to 14
15" Brace - fits OVER 14" up to 16"
17" Brace - fits OVER 15" up to 20"

What's the difference between WiggleLess Back Brace and L'il Back Bracer?

WiggleLess -
- This brand has been around longer
- It has stronger more substantial built in boning (which is firmer than Lil Back Brace's lighter boning)
- The brace doesn't go around the back legs (better for incontinent dogs)
- It has 3 wide straps each side which you pull up from the belly and attached onto the side Velcro
- The lead D-Clip is metal so won't snap / break
- The brace is slightly heavier then L'il Back Bracer due to the substantial boning it offers in comparison

L'il Back Bracer -
- Straps go around the back legs for extra security
- Boning is lighter than WiggleLess and the back bracer is a narrower along the top of the spine
- There are two wide elastic straps on one side of the brace, you then pull under the belly and attach to Velcro the other side to tighten
- Overall this means the brace is lighter than the WiggleLess brand
- The lead D-Ring is plastic

I guess this is a generated email and you have not read my mail of 30 th August.when we still had not received the brace, your shop was open but not responding to phone Helen suggested we email for a “ quick response “ on a recorded msg from her phone.
I found the fitting ,when it did arrive Saturday late afternoon, odd as one leg seems to have a circle of support, but not the other front leg, the red tabs at the front are long and hang down, the black small strap under her chest has no velcro and so I tuck it under the
main black strap.
A conversation would be good to have.
It seems a highly expensive product with these design issues. As service, practically and design give me a low customer experience, I am hoping function enables my little dog to move with the support her back needs .

Delighted with Brace

Great product. Good instructions. Quality. Easy to fit and my little Lottie seems happy to wear it. Starting slowly so she gets used to it. She is on strict cage rest which is a nightmare!! But the brace gives me reassurance when out for potty time. Dispatch and Delivery super fast. Thanks Zoomadog.

Wiggleless back brace

On the 18th of June this year Twiglet, my 9 year old miniature dachshund, suddenly developed back pain and became weak, unbalanced and uncoordinated on his back legs. The vet told us he had slipped a disc and the problems he was having walking were only going to get worse. We live in the Isles of Scilly so would have had to put Twiglet through the traumatic experience of flying to the mainland if he were to have an operation. We did not want to put him through that so desperately wanted to prevent the back problem getting worse. I searched for back braces and this was the first to come up. The customer care team were extremely helpful and quickly responded to all my questions. The brace arrived in only two days despite being an offshore location! I put it on Twiglet and he seemed instantly at ease (he usually hates wearing any sort of coat or fleece!) Although he was still very wobbly on his legs he seemed safe and secure and comfortable in the brace. After a couple of days he was wearing it for about 9 hours a day very happily. 5 weeks later and there is a huge improvement in his condition! He is able to walk and run with ease and is so so happy! We no longer put the brace on him indoors but he wears it on all walks and it gives me so much confidence to let him do as he pleases because I know his back is secure. The brace is worth every penny and I am so grateful to have bought one.

Excellent Back Brace

My Pekingese Betha was diagnosed with IVDD aged 18 months and has needed 4 spinal surgeries. She has had her back brace for 3 days now and is walking really comfortably with it on. It offers her firm support but allows for normal movement, whist correcting the excessive 'hingeing' that she previously experienced in her mid-lumbar region when she walks . The brace is easy to fit, light weight and does not make her too warm as it is a breathable material. I would highly recommend this product and will be purchasing another as a spare.
