These are the best medical covers for your dog's leg. What makes these Scandi Orthopedic dog protection covers better than an average design is the material and shape. This dog leg cover is:
  • Waterproof so the wound area stays dry
  • Breathable so moisture and humidity can escape
  • Strong material and can be kept on 24 hours a day
  • The material is not cotton. Cotton is not good for wounds as the fabric can stick to the wound
  • The design means it doesn't fall off your dog, it is secure
  • The material has excellent stretch allowing your dog freedom of movement
  • You can hand wash with mild detergent at a maximum of 40C

*For Male Dogs: The Cover attaches behind the penis, so they can wee. You can customise the fit for your male dog for extra comfort around their genitals, there are clear instructions to show you how to do this.

  • How can I decide whether I need a right or left rear leg? Is it looking from front or rear of dog?

    Please have your dog facing away from you (tail nearest). Their left and right will be the same as ours. 

  • Does this work for female dogs?

    Yes this works for both females and males. With males you have the option to cut an extra part out for best fit, there are clear instructions how to do this and we can also help.

  • Can the cover be worn on both legs at the same time?

    Yes they can be worn on both legs at once, it will however be a tad bulky. Scandi do offer a custom fit for both legs, this is an additional cost of £40.

Brilliant

Totally brilliant piece of kit! Took our spaniel back to the vets for a check ip and they have taken details of the leg cover. Perfect for keeping her injury clean while it is healing and we have been able to get rid of the cone too. A very happy owner and even happier spaniel!

So far so good

We thought we’d try the leg sleeve for our dog when he has TPLO surgery. Unfortunately this is the second leg that needs doing. Keeping him away from his wound was one of the most stressful things last time around. He won’t settle with an e-collar and suits we tried didn’t prevent him getting to the wound so we had many a disturbed night being woken by the sound of licking. We decided we needed something better this time and so far the sleeve has been worth the investment. He wore it for a few days pre-surgery to get used to it and had no issues. We brought him home today in the sleeve and there’s been no sign of him going anywhere near the wound area or trying to get the sleeve off.

Zoomadog were really helpful before we purchased, quickly answering questions about sizing and considerations for any swelling. And on delivery when we thought we’d been sent the wrong leg - we hadn’t, it goes “inside out”.

Based on our experience so far, we’d definitely recommend.

fits the wrong leg

Ordered right leg got right leg as per the enclosed photo and tag on the cover but it fits the left leg. In the process of returning it and getting the correct one

Good quality

However we didn’t realise we had to cut out the genital area for male dogs which was very worrying in such an expensive product and the diagrams were not helpful.
