These are the best medical covers for your dog's leg. What makes these Scandi Orthopedic dog protection covers better than an average design is the material and shape. This dog leg cover is:
  • Material: 75% ScandiTex, 20% neoprene, and 5% Velcro
  • ScandiTex is similar to GoreTex but with stretch and skin-friendly
  • Waterproof so the wound area stays dry
  • Breathable so moisture and humidity can escape
  • Strong material and can be kept on 24 hours a day
  • The material is not cotton.
  • Cotton is not good for wounds as the fabric can stick to the wound
  • The design means it doesn't fall off your dog, it is secure
  • The material has excellent stretch allowing your dog freedom of movement
  • You can hand wash with mild detergent at a maximum of 40C

*For Male Dogs: The Cover attaches behind the penis, so they can wee. You can customise the fit for your male dog for extra comfort around their genitals, there are clear instructions to show you how to do this.

  • How can I decide whether I need a right or left rear leg? Is it looking from front or rear of dog?

    Please have your dog facing away from you (tail nearest). Their left and right will be the same as ours. 

  • Does this work for female dogs?

    Yes this works for both females and males. With males you have the option to cut an extra part out for best fit, there are clear instructions how to do this and we can also help.

  • Can the cover be worn on both legs at the same time?

    Yes they can be worn on both legs at once, it will however be a tad bulky. Scandi do offer a custom fit for both legs, this is an additional cost of £40.

Not for a male dog

I think the cover is perfect material and fits well for a bitch - but I don't believe the fit for a male dog and his genitals/penis are thought about enough, I have had far better products leaving that area open. I didn't realise from the description that you actually had to cut bits out of the waist band for it to fit a male correctly - and of course if you make an error that is that.... and it was alot of money to waste.

A real game changer

My boy had a TPLO operation last week and he came home with a cone; he was struggling with not being able to groom himself, and it led to difficulties when going to the loo. We ordered the leg protection and within minutes of him having it on he changed. He started moving about more, actually started to weight bear on the leg that had been operated on, and toilet breaks were so much easier.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who had a dog with and ACL and looking to have a TPLO - order it in before it is needed - your dog will thank you for it.

Be Aware

Purchased according to advise ( waist measurement most important) unfortunately the size of the hind leg circumference is much more important and you also need to take into account the swelling post TPLO surgery! The surgeon applied a leg cover of his own and gave me back the opened and slightly marked support therefore I cannot return it!

Not for me, well made though

Unfortunately the material is not for me, heavy duty thick like polyester material. Very well made. I am looking for cotton and lighter in weight. If you have prolific licker then 100%. If they did a lighter version 100%. Have returned mine as i i opened it and knew it wasnt what i personally looking for

Did what it said on the tin

Dog had TPLO surgery and we bought the cover to stop him from licking the wound.. Cover fitted perfectly apart from the leg was too long so we had to shorten it
