DogLeggs Ehmer Sling with Vest for Dogs - Enhances Your Dog's Comfort & Accelerates Their Recovery from Dislocated Hip

Ehmer Sling with Support Vest for Dogs is excellent for helping support your dog’s hind limb during recovery from hip dislocation, surgery, or orthopaedic injury. Designed to assist with controlled limb positioning and restricted weight bearing, this support system is commonly used following closed or open reduction of craniodorsal coxofemoral luxations, as well as post-operative management of certain hip and femoral fractures. The padded vest distributes weight comfortably around the torso, while the adjustable sling allows you to guide movement and support rehabilitation safely. It can also help prevent unwanted weight bearing on the affected limb while encouraging controlled use of the opposite limb during recovery.

Expensive and poor design

I hoped for good things from this £300+ sling. To help my dog recover from hip dislocation and to save his skin from the adhesive tape sores that are caused from taping the leg in position.
I took it to my vets the day it arrived and between us with a lot of effort, it took about 45 minutes to figure out how to fit it, so the leg was in the correct position.
It was near impossible and we settled for the best we could get it to.
Within moments of leaving the vets, it was clear the design did not account for Male dogs and he had peed on the strap that’s supposed to give extra stability. And also his foot because there is not enough stability to stop the leg hanging under the belly.
We dried it and persevered.
The leg holes are completely in the wrong place and subsequently it blocks the shoulder from moving.
My previously very ambulatory dog refused to move. Meaning he had to be carried outside to toilet. (Yes the correct size was purchased.)
Again we persevered.
By the next morning I noticed that one of the front legs, that goes through the hole in the vest part, was very swollen and the vest needed to be removed immediately!
Making it a very expensive and pointless piece of equipment.
