How to Use the FitPaws Trax Donut

With it's unique shape and flattened base, the TRAX Donut offers stability and versatility during training. As you teach your dog to stand, sit, lay and side step on the Donut, the subtle movement under your dog's weight constantly shifts their centre of gravity causing their core and limb muscles to engage and strengthen. By strengthening your dog's entire core muscle chain, you are increasing their mobility and agility, while reducing their chance of injury.

First, inflate the donut until it's firm. Next, let it rest for 12-24 hours so the material can stretch and then fill it all the way.

At full inflation the Donut has less dynamic movement and so is less challenging for your dog. To increase the balance challenge, remove air slightly so that the Donut has more dynamic movement.

Benefits:

- Core strengthening

- Balance training

- Instability training

- Improved coordination

- Better joint health

- Obedience training

- Puppy confidence building

For Sizing:

The FitPaws TRAX™ Donut will work for most small, medium and large dogs for weight bearing and balance exercises (2 paws on Donut, 2 paws on floor).

If you plan to use your FitPaws TRAX™ Donut mainly for core conditioning, measure your dog from the front legs to the back legs. If you dog’s natural stance measures 16” or less, you will be able to use the Donut for core training.

Safety:

Before beginning this or any physical activity with your dog, ensure he or she is in good health. The FitPAWS® TRAX™Donut is a training tool for dogs only and is NOT A TOY. Absolute Game-Changer for Small-Breed Rehabilitation!

We are a multi-dog household. Two of our pups do daily physiotherapy exercises. Finding gear for tiny legs isn't easy but thie FitKinect system is up to the challenge . Our Pack’s Specific needs:

• Biewer Terrier (3 Years Old): Has a luxating patella. Needs to build core strength and body awareness.

• Havanese Senior: Recovering from a second cruciate tear and a late post-op infection. He needs to build strength in his quads, relearn back paw placement, improve range of motion in his knee and learn to stride consistently on the operated leg.

Incredible Ease of Use

This is my first experience with this system. I admit to being intimidated when I heard the kit described as "Lego for dogs," but it's intuitive and easy to set up.

• Mini Cavalletti Setup: Under two minutes to build.

• Dual-Level Platform: Assembled in just seconds.

• Pivot Platform: Ready to go in seconds.

Why the Xtra Kit Wins for Little Dogs

Upgrading to Xtra was a great decision. Other fitness kits completely fail tiny breeds. Their spacing is always too wide. This is also the only system I found for low Cavalletti. The poles adjust perfectly for short strides. It makes exercises truly therapeutic for small dogs.

Day 1 Setups & Performance

Both dogs wanted to try it immediately. We built three distinct configurations right away:

• Micro-Cavalletti Rails: Low for targeted gait therapy.

• Intermediate Pivot Platform: A step up in difficulty, using a stable base with a step-over pole.

• Dual-Level Step Platform: Elevated blocks to stretch knees safely.

Both dogs performed exercises confidently and capably. The premium non-slip surface provided amazing traction. No slipping means zero fear during workouts.

Endless Room to Grow

This kit offers far more possibilities than expected. We can increase challenges as they grow stronger and their proprioception improves.

Because of its versatility, the Xtra set is perfect for:

• Multi-dog homes with varied fitness levels.

• Professional rehab centres needing varied setups.

• Big dogs requiring a larger physical footprint.

• Canine athletes building advanced capabilities.

We are more than satisfied with this purchase! It makes many other rehab equipment purchases unecessary.
