Review: "My elderly dog’s paw pads are soft and one of them had actually split, I recommend this product as it fits securely, everything else I tried did not stay on. Delivery service was excellent. Although it seems expensive, compared with vet fees this boot is well worth the money." [Margaret, Scotland]  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Can u make a set of dog boots for a cane corso 12cm all around please

Hi there, I can certainly contact Therapaw to ask for a total cost for this custom request.

  • My dog has inflammatory arthritis in her front paws hence width is 7cm but paw length is also 7cm should I get TE size note rear paws are only 6.5 cm wide however really only want these for front paws dog is a collie lab cross coming up to 11 years old but active and weighs around 21 kg.

If you want a snug, corrective fit: go with T/D . If you want a slightly roomier, more comfortable fit for swollen/arthritic paws: go T/E.

If you need protection + some correction (to stop knuckling) and want a more secure fit: choose T/D.

If the paws are regularly swollen, painful, or you want a looser, cushioned fit that won’t compress the paw: choose T/E.

Measure the paw circumference and wrist (carpus) circumference before ordering — Thera-Paw also uses those dimensions for final sizing. If the carpus circumference is near the T/E limit, that pushes you toward T/E.

If in doubt, go slightly larger for arthritic/inflamed paws — better to have a little extra room than an overly tight boot that causes pressure or reduces circulation. You can add a sock/liner to take up any slack if the boot rides a little loose.

    - Make sure the paw is pressed flat for the measurement (dog standing with full weight).

    - The boot should be snug around the paw but not pinch; you should be able to wedge one finger under the top strap.

    - If your dog has high knuckles, some people size up to avoid pressure on those knuckles.

  • Nerve damage to left hind leg causing dog to limp on on upper paw not sole

What Thera-paw boots are designed for:

They’re padded, protective boots often used for arthritis, toe injuries, and paw protection.

They give cushioning and traction, and help prevent sores from dragging or uneven weight-bearing.

Some versions (like the Thera-paw RX or Thera-paw Protective Boot) are especially soft and cushioned, aimed at protecting damaged or sensitive paws.

    With nerve damage & knuckling:

Standard boots don’t correct the paw position — so your dog may still walk on the top of the paw, which can cause the boot itself to wear through or twist.

They do protect the skin from scraping and help prevent wounds/ulcers, which is very important in nerve-damaged paws.

    Possible alternatives:

Knuckling aid - Maximus PawsUp is made to gently lift the paw and stop it from folding under.

Excellent Boot

Since my Whippet has severed the tendons on her rear leg, her foot has elongated and her toes point upwards. She needs a boot on that foot otherwise she is on 3 legs. This boot is a brilliant as she can once again walk on 4 legs

Great boot

Our whippet severed a tendon in her back leg and has to wear a boot for the rest of her life. We tried so many boots that weren’t any good. These boots are perfect. We are so pleased and now our Whippet can go for walks again.

Review of boot

Difficult to measure size needed so too big but still useful. It would help to have a comparison of likely sizes for breeds on website.
