Review: "Just received Charlie's Splish Splash boots in yellow. They are great quality. The Velcro strap is an upgraded design which I love and as I live in UK, it's fantastic they are rainproof." [Paul, UK]  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Are the Splish Splash boots waterproof?

The Splish Splash boots are not completely waterproof. For example, if your greyhound walks in grass with heavy dew they will get wet inside. They are quite high, so if your sighthound is on tarmac which is wet, the the boots will not get wet inside.

  • I don't know if I should by Splish Splash or the regular Hunnyboots. Can you tell me what the difference is?

If your sighthound has not worn boots before, we recommend starting with the original Hunnyboots as they are lighter and your dog will adapt to them quickly and easily. These boots are excellent every day wear and use, in towns or out and about. If you would like to try a warmer boot, than the Splish Splash are perfect for colder wetter weather.

How to Measure Splish Splash

How to Measure Splish Splash

Please note that sizings for Splish Splash and V4 Hunnyboots are different. Double check the size guide, even if you already have V4s, but are buying a pair of Splish Splash for the first time.

Remember that front and back paws can be different sizes! Measure both if you’re getting boots for front and back.

Contact us if you need help because your hound has long nails, higher than normal knuckles, or abnormal paws because of amputation, surgery, or an incident. We can advise the best fit.

To measure for Splish Splash: the easiest method is to take a ruler or tape measure, and while your hound is lying down, and their paws are extended and flat. Press down on the knuckles and hold the foot flat against the ruler. Measure from the tip of the longest nail, to the back of the pad. Once you have measurements front and back, you’re ready to choose your size.

Check knuckle type

Check knuckle type

If your dog’s on the edge of two sizes

If 8.2cm, choose LARGE

If the foot shape is ‘high’, err on the smaller size range

Game Changer!

The boots only arrived today, but wow! The (black) splish splash boots are so well-made, the only brand so far that I've come across that claims to be for whippets/greyhounds and actually understands their foot anatomy. Superb fit, quality and comfort. My whippet did the funny walk wearing them for the first time in the house, but when trying them on outside, he seemed so happy not having cold, wet feet and kept bouncing around excitedly, wagging his tail. When yesterday he didn't even want to go outside and had to be dragged, after suffering for weeks with recurring blisters/raw patches where his knuckles touch (my whippet walks very high on his toes, like a cat; which creates more knuckle friction). Best purchase ever made for my dog! I only bought a front-pair, as he rarely has issues with his back legs, but am considering getting a back-pair too, as he seems to love the warmth regardless.

Wow

I'd renamed our whippet "limp along" as a corn on her front left paw had turned her into a three legged dog who obviously found walking painful. Then I bought a pair of the Splish Splash boots. What a difference they have made. She walks or should I say trots along perfectly, and she is now called by her name "Indy"again. What a fantastic result

Second pair

These are Bilbo's second pair of winter boots. They're brilliant and Zoomadog provided a great service too.

No regrets

Great quality, fit perfectly, easy to put on and my greyhound walks in them with ease. Not 100% waterproof but far better than our previous boots. Would definitely recommend.
