Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I have just received my order for XS as advised by my dogs Physio so confident I have the correct size. However, the strap that says should go under his tummy is pressing against the base of his penis...could this be harmful?

Take the brace off and let your dog rest (avoid further pressure on that area). Re-fit from scratch, making sure:

    1) The knee pad sits properly on the hind leg with the knee cap aligned to the opening.

2)The belly/abdomen strap — when buckled — lies behind (or slightly in front of) the belly, not at the base of the penis/sheath area. If needed, re-position so the strap sits higher up on the belly.

3)The strap tension is snug but not tight — you should be able to slip 1–2 fingers under the strap (but no more than that).

    4) Monitor for irritation or soreness — redness, rubbing, swelling, or changes in urination: if any appear, remove the brace

Support

I was looking for a support for my dog following a major operation of his ligaments. Based on the product description and the measure chart it looked fit for purpose.

Sadly the measurements don’t advise you to take into account the size of your dogs paws. And therefore when it arrived I couldn’t slide the support into place as the paw was bigger than the measure of his hock.

Due to needing the product I kept it. Modified it by cutting bits off and using Velcro. I so of have what I need but sadly the product is not fit for purpose.

Not ideal

The brace isn’t a great fit and offers modest support. It also falls off the back of the dog when she attempts to walk. Very expensive for what it is, would probably spend more to get something that does a better job.

Go for the more robust knee supports

Go for the more robust knee supports as yo need the ability to adjust the support to gain the needed support
