Walkabout Dog Knuckling Protection Boots help dogs suffering from paw dragging and knuckling, for indoor and outdoor use. These Knuckling Boots offer protection from dirt and infection as well as making your dog's life a lot more comfortable. The extra sole on the top of these Knuckling Boots helps to prevent abrasions and scrapes to your dog's paws and claws, as well as protecting the boot from wearing out on the top as regular boots will. Walkabout Boots hug your dog's paws and fit like a glove, enabling your dog to move around comfortably as normal. Paw knuckling generally arises from a neurological problem but all dogs can show signs of knuckling after injury or disease, the knuckling may get better in time but in many cases is a life long condition that we have to manage carefully as dog owners.

  • Excellent if your dog's paws knuckle or drag
  • Importantly provides protection to the top of the paw
  • Last longer than regular non-knuckling boots
  • Velcro strap secures Knuckling boot so your dog can’t remove
  • Single boot

Review: "Small boot fits perfectly on my Cavalier King Charles spaniel. The Velcro wrap around strap does not loosen so the boot stays on even with an energetic dog!" [Suzy, Ireland]  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Customer Question:

My dog has started to show signs of paw knuckling. What would you recommend to help him?

Zoomadog Answer:

Walkin' Training Sock - this training sock is excellent if your dog is younger, this elastic sock retrains they paw to be placed down flat.

Walkin' Bootie Splint -this splint goes half way down the leg but importantly has a flat base so the paw can sit flat again. This holds the wrist joint where your dog has lost power and control. You can get front or rear Bootie Splints depending on which paws you want help supporting.

Walkabout Knuckling Protection Dog Boots - these boots have a very thick front and back lid to protect your dog's nails and skin from being scraped.

Customer Question:

Hi my dog has arthritis in all her limbs but does have possibly underlying neuro problem in her back legs. When walking she catches her nails and injures her right paw due to knuckling. What could you recommend for her to protect her paws/nails?

Zoomadog Answer:

Hello, We would suggest you buy a pair of Walkabout Knuckling Protection Boots to protect the top skin and nails from being damaged when you dog drags her paws along the ground, alongside a Walkin' Bootie Splint to make sure the paw pad stays horizontal if possible. If she is young you could also look at the Walkin' Training Sock.

Customer Question:

My 11 year old boxer has just been diagnosed with spondylosis. He drags his back paw and has worn down the claws. When walking on pavements his paw bleeds after a time so at the moment we are just walking him on grass. I would like to get him a boot for his paw. Could you recommend which would be the most effective for him. Thank you.

Zoomadog Answer:

We have a boot especially for protection paws when they drag. They have extra thick protection both sides of the boot which will stop your dog from bleeding / damaging their nails and paws. See here: Walkabout Knuckling Protection Boots

Good quality

Good quality just struggled to keep on. Got for my German Shepherd, size was right, went for smaller size because of reviews and was definitely good advice because never would of stayed on at all if I went with his measurement size, but after a bit of dragging they work their way off, it was ok for us because he can not walk far because of spinal injury and that’s the reason he drags his paws, but if he was going on longer walks they would come off a lot.

Knuckling

Very disappointing, It didnt work! . I read reviews and bought one . It would start to slide off straight away and just cause a new set of problems.

Walkabout knuckling protection boot

Good boot to protect his feet but could do with coming a bit higher up the leg perhaps to keep it on. Kept coming off

Makes such a difference

I have an older dog who has been struggling with his back paw knuckling and what a difference this boot has made. Fits perfect and stays on! We’ve noticed such a difference in him while wearing the boot. Yes it’s pricey but it’s well worth it to help with the comfort of your dog. Would recommend to anyone who’s concerned.
